Lucas is an actor with less than 10 credits to his name, however, he’s already left a mark in the entertainment industry by playing the role of Gilbert Blythe in the series “Anne with an E”, making an appearance in 25 episodes of this family drama which began airing on Netflix in 2017.

Lucas Jade Zumann hails from Chicago, Illinois USA, and was born on 12 December 2000; he holds American nationality, and comes from a family of Jewish descent. Lucas was raised by his parents, Matthew and Jennifer Zumann, and this is all that’s known about them.

Next, Lucas was seen in two episodes of the series “Chicago Fire” in 2016. He followed with his role as Henry Perry in the adventure comedy “Thrill Ride”, starring opposite Helen Sadler and Kristen Johnston. From 2017 until 2019, Lucas was seen as Gilbert Blythe in “Anne with an E”, also starring Amybeth McNulty, R. H. Thomson, and Geraldine James. The series had 53 award nominations and won 24, while Lucas with the rest of the crew shares a nomination for the Alliance of Canadian Cinema, Television and Radio Artists (ACTRA) Award for Outstanding Performance – Ensemble.

Most recently, Lucas was seen as James Whitman in the 2021 mystery comedy “Dr. Bird’s Advice for Sad Poets”, in which he starred opposite Michael H. Cole and Roger Dale Floyd. Although the movie had no nominations, the audience rated this drama as ‘humorous and emotionally charged’.

Although in the series his character was a love interest of Anne, Lucas and the actress who portrayed this character, Amybeth McNulty, are nothing more than co-stars, despite the rumors about them being a couple in the real life.
