Who is Peri Gilpin?
Peri Kay Oldham was born in Waco, Texas USA, on 27 May 1961 – her zodiac sign is Gemini, and she holds American nationality. She’s an actress and film producer, with more than 70 acting credits to her name, while she’s probably known best for her portrayal of Joanne in the comedy series “Broad City”, created by Ilana Glazer and Abbi Jacobson, who also starred in it, alongside Hannibal Burress. Early life and education
Peri was raised in Waco alongside her siblings Marc, Patti Jo and April, by their mother Sandra Jo Hauck who was a housewife, and their father James Franklin Oldham who was a newscaster, and was probably known better as Jim O’Brien.
Peri’s parents divorced sometime in the mid-‘60s, and her mother married Wes Gilpin in 1969; not long after this, Peri took Wes’ surname. The family lived in Dallas, Texas, and Peri was encouraged by her mother and step-father to pursue acting, with them having seen her perform in school plays; her mother died in 1997, having lost her battle against leiomyosarcoma (malignant smooth muscle tumor).
Peri practiced acting at Dallas Theater Center, and upon matriculating from Skyline High School in 1979, enrolled at the University of Texas, Austin, from which she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1983; Peri then attended the British American Drama Academy in London, England.
Roles in TV series
Peri made her debut TV series appearance in the 1988 episode “The Currency We Trade In” of the mystery crime drama “21 Jump Street”, and the following years saw her appear in an episode or two of a couple of popular series, such as the drama “Almost Grown”, the action drama “Max Monroe”, and the mystery crime drama “Matlock”.
She only gained recognition in 1998, when cast to voice Lana Lionheart, one of the lead characters in the animated family comedy “The Lionhearts”; it also starred William H. Macy and Natasha Slayton, follows the lives of MGM studios’ mascot Leo and his family, and was nominated for three awards.
Between 1993 and 2004, Peri played Roz Doyle in 263 episodes of the comedy “Frasier”, created by David Angell and Peter Casey, and which starred Kelsey Grammer, Jane Leeves and David Hyde Pierce. It follows Dr. Frasier Crane who’s moved back with his father in Seattle, Washington State, where he’s working as a radio psychiatrist; the series won 167 awards, including 37 Primetime Emmys, while it was nominated for 276 other awards.
The remainder of the 2000s saw Peri play and voice supporting characters in an episode or two of several popular series, including the drama “Side Order of Life”, the mystery crime drama “Law & Order: Criminal Intent”, and the animated comedy “King of the Hill” (voice role).
She portrayed Katherine Cooper in the action crime drama “Scorpion”, created by Nick Santora, and which starred Elyes Gabel, Katharine McPhee and Eddie Kaye Thomas. The series follows an international network of geniuses, aired from 2014 to 2018, and won one of the seven awards for which it was nominated.
Three of Peri’s most recent roles in TV series have been in the 2019 episode “You Had Me at Homicide” of the crime comedy drama “Why Women Kill”, the 2020 episode “Remember Our Parents’ Wedding?” of the family comedy “Family Reunion”, and the 2021 episode “Ghost” of the comedy drama “Kevin Can F**k Himself”.

Peri made her debut film appearance in the 1995 drama “Fight for Justice: The Nancy Conn Story”, and a couple of her following roles were in the 1996 thriller drama “The Secret She Carried”, the 1998 adventure family “The Jungle book: Mowgli’s Story”, and the 1999 drama “Spring Forward”.
In 2006, Peri voiced Professor Kate Corrigan in the action adventure “Hellboy Animated: Sword of Storms”, directed by Phil Weinstein and Tad Stones, and which starred Ron Perlman, Selma Blair and Doug Jones. It follows Hellboy who’s travelled to Japan to fight a demon, and the movie was nominated for three awards, including a Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Animated Program (For Programming One Hour or More).
Her following notable performance was in the 2016 action family comedy “A Dash of Love”, in which she starred alongside Jen Lilley and Brendan Penny. The movie follows a waitress and executive chef who’ve fallen in love, and have both been fired from the restaurant at which they worked.

She exchanged vows with American painter Christian Vincent on 31 July 1999, in a large ceremony attended by many of their friends and family members. Their twins were born on 7 May 2004 to a surrogate mother, but nothing is known about them, as Peri and Christian prefer to keep them away from the media’s attention.
Peri hasn’t mentioned any other men whom she’s perhaps been with, so as of August 2022, she’s married to Christian Vincent, and they have twins together.

Peri’s quite active on Instagram and seems to be enjoying the attention which she’s receiving from her close to 40,000 followers; she’s uploaded more than 2,000 pictures onto the network, most of which have been taken during her everyday life.
