Who is Felicia Farr?
Felicia Farr was born as Olive Dines, in Westchester County, New York State USA, on 4 October 1932 – her zodiac sign is Libra, and she holds American nationality. She’s a retired actress and model, who appeared in close to 50 movies and TV series between 1954 and 1992, while she’s perhaps still known best for her portrayal of Sybil Fort, one of the main characters in the 1973 drama movie “Charley Varrick”. It was directed by Don Siegel, also starred Walter Matthau and Joe Don Baker, and follows a husband and wife who are planning to rob a bank without knowing that they are actually stealing from the mafia; the movie won two of the three awards for which it was nominated, including a BAFTA win for Best Actor (Walter Matthau).

Felicia is today alive and well, living at her home in Los Angeles, California, but has been staying away from the media’s attention since her retirement; she did, however, reappear briefly in 2014, to play Mrs Phelps in the comedy movie “Loser’s Crown”.
Early life and education
Felicia was raised in Westchester County by her father Max Dines, and her mother Sylvia Schwartz; nothing is known about her parents, as Felicia has preferred to keep the details of her personal life to herself, but it’s said that her father was a journalist, and that her mother was a housewife. Because she hasn’t spoken of having any siblings, most of Felicia’s fans believe her to be an only child.
She grew up dreaming about becoming a model, and it came true for her when she was attending Erasmus Hall High School – at the age of 15. Felicia worked as a lingerie model, but because she was under age, her agency had to claim that she was actually 19 years old.
Upon matriculating in 1950, she enrolled at Penn State University, from which she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in sociology in 1954.
Roles in TV series
Felicia made her debut TV series appearance in the 1954 episode “The Savage” of the adventure drama “The Lone Wolf”, and the following years saw her appear in an episode of various series, including the drama “TV Reader’s Digest”, another drama “Jane Wyman Presents the Fireside Theatre”, and the comedy “Celebrity Playhouse”.
In 1960, she was cast to play June Waldon in the episode “A Succession of Heartbeats” of the crime thriller drama “Naked City”; the series starred Harry Bellaver, Horace McMahon and Paul Burke, and followed the New York Police Department’s 65th Precinct; it won 10 awards, including four Primetime Emmys, while it was nominated for 15 other awards. A couple of Felicia’s other notable performances in the ‘60s were in the 1961 episode “The Eleanor Culhane Story” of the western “Wagon Train”, the 1962 episode “Put Your Dreams Away” of the drama “Bus Stop”, and the 1967 episode “Fly by Night” of the drama “Run for Your Life”.
She appeared in only two other TV series prior to retiring: the action crime adventure “It Takes a Thief” in 1970, and the 1975 episode “Reflections” of the action crime drama “Harry O”.
Roles in movies
Felicia made her debut film appearance with her portrayal of Emily Evans in the 1955 crime drama “Big House, USA.”, and a couple of her following roles were in 1956, in the crime drama “Time Table”, the romantic western drama “Jubal” and the biographical historical drama “The First Texan”.
She gained recognition when she played Jenny, the lead character in the 1956 adventure western drama “The Last Wagon”, written and directed by Delmer Daves, and which also starred Richard Widmark and Susan Kohner. The movie follows the people whose train has been attacked by Apaches, and who are putting their trust into the sheriff’s prisoner Comanche Todd.
In 1960, Felicia starred in the western “Hell Bent for Leather”, and was then cast to appear in the 1964 romantic comedy “Kiss Me, Stupid”, the 1965 drama “Memorandum for a Spy” and the 1966 action thriller “The Venetian Affair”.
She appeared in only four movies in the ‘70s, and in 1986, Felicia was cast to play Madame Carrie in the comedy drama “That’s Life!” It was written and directed by Blake Edwards, starred Jack Lemmon, Julie Andrews and Sally Kellerman, and follows the lives of a rich but depressed architect and his wife; the movie was nominated for six awards, including an Oscar for Best Music, Original Song.
Felicia appeared in only one other movie prior to retiring: the hit 1992 crime comedy drama “The Player”, which won 24 of the 60 awards for which it was nominated, including three Oscar nominations.

Felicia has been married twice. She exchanged vows with her first husband, the late American actor Lee Farr, on 2 September 1949, in a private ceremony attended by the closest of their friends and family members. Felicia gave birth to their daughter Denise Farr, who married the late American actor Don Gordon in 1979, becoming his fourth and last wife.
Felicia and Lee divorced in 1955, and she then married the late American actor John Uhler Lemmon III – Jack Lemmon – in 1962, giving birth to their daughter Courtney in 1966.The marriage ended when Jack passed away in 2001.
She hasn’t spoken of any other men whom she has perhaps been with, so as of February 2022, Felicia seems to be single, has been married twice, and has two daughters.
Hobbies and interesting facts
Felicia enjoyed travelling while she was still active in the film industry, and visited various US states, as well as a couple of European and Asian countries. Her dream travel destination was and still is Paris, France, which was where she married Jack Lemmon.
She was physically quite active during her 20s and 30s, as it was important for her acting career to stay in shape; Felicia and a couple of other actresses often worked out together, and had their own instructor.
She’s a huge cat-lover, and has had several pet cats.
Felicia is a philanthropist, and has donated money to a couple of charity organizations, mostly to those which aim to improve the quality of life for underprivileged children.
She has her own favorite actors and actresses, some of whom are Jim Carrey, Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway, while a couple of Felicia’s favorite movies include “The Devil Wears Prada”, “The Bridges of Madison County”, and “Ace Ventura: Pet Detective”.
