Who is Alicia Hannah-Kim?
Australian actress, film producer and director Alicia Hannah-Kim was born under the zodiac sign Leo on 28 July 1987, in Sydney, New Soth Wales, Australia. She has 21 acting credits, and is perhaps known best for playing Kim Da-Eun in five episodes (2022) of the popular action comedy series “Cobra Kai”, which Hayden Schlossberg and Josh Heald created, and which starred Courtney Henggeler, William Zabka and Ralph Macchio. It follows now middle-aged Johnny Lawrence and Daniel LaRusso who’ve become karate opponents once again; the series aired from 2018 through 2023 and won four of its 67 award nominations.
Early life and education
Alicia was raised in Sydney by her South Korean parents who settled in Australia not long before she was born; it’s believed that her mother’s a homemaker and her father a businessman, but this is yet to be addressed by Alicia. As she’s yet to talk about having siblings, most of Alicia’s fans believe that she’s an only child.
She became interested in acting while still attending a local elementary school, but was only able to convince her parents to start taking her to auditions after she turned 15; Alicia was 16 when she made her debut TV series appearance, playing Sherry in a 2003 episode of the crime drama “White Collar Blue”, which starred Brooke Satchwell, Freya Stafford and Peter O’Brien, and follows the work of Kingsway Major Crime Squad detectives. Alicia’s been active in the film industry ever since.
She matriculated in 2005 and then enrolled at National Youth Theatre Company, graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in drama in 2009.
Roles in movies
Alicia’s debut film role was playing Neighbour in the 2006 romantic drama “Candy”, written and directed by Neil Armfield, and which starred Geoffrey Rush, Abbie Cornish and Heath Ledger. It follows a poet and heroin addict who’s fallen for an art student, and the film won six of its 23 award nominations.
The year 2007 saw Alicia play Cocktail Waitress in the critically acclaimed action crime comedy “Rush Hour 3”, which Brett Ratner directed, and which starred Chris Tucker, Jackie Chan and Max von Sydow. It follows Carter and Lee who’ve come to Paris, France to protect a woman from being assassinated by the Triads, and the film was nominated for nine awards. A couple of Alicia’s following roles were in the comedy “Holiday Road”, the short crime comedy “Christmas Is Ruined” and the comedy “A Night at the Silent Movie Theatre”, all released in 2012.

In 2017, she portrayed Alex in the comedy “We Love You, Sally Carmichael!”, which Christopher Gorham directed, as well as starred in, alongside Paula Marshall and Felicia Day; it follows the life of romance novels author Sally Carmichael.
Alicia’s since appeared in only three movies: the 2017 short comedy “Last Meal”, the 2021 short science fiction “Welcome to Forever”, and the 2022 thriller “Heatwave”.
Roles in TV series
In 2008, Alicia played Shin in two episodes of the drama “Crash”, which Glen Mazzara created, and which starred Ross McCall, Moran Atias and Dennis Hopper. It follows the rise of racial tensions in Los Angeles, California – the series was nominated for only a single award.
Alicia could then have been seen appearing in an episode of the romantic drama “Grey’s Anatomy”, the comedy “Hot in Cleveland” and the action adventure comedy “Supah Ninjas”.
The year 2012 saw her play Lotus in the episode “The Straw in My Donut Hole” of the romantic comedy “Two and a Half Men”, and in 2014, Alicia played Channel 6 Reporter in the episode “What to Expect When You’re Expecting Chemo” of the romantic drama “Chasing Life”, which starred Mary Page Keller and Italia Ricci, and which Susanna Fogel and Marco Lagarde created. Most recently, in 2022, she played Wendy Mah in two episodes of the comedy “Minx”, which Ellen Rapoport created, and which today stars Oscar Montoya, Jessica Lowe and Ophelia Lovibond. It follows a young feminist as she’s working on publishing the first erotic magazine for women in the 1970s Los Angeles, and the series has won four of its six award nominations.
Other credits
Alicia directed the 2018 short crime adventure movie “Prodigy Unit One”, which starred Jara Zeimer, Demetri Kingsland and Emily Garlough, and follows an elite group of teen special agents.
In 2020, Alicia made a guest appearance in the podcast “Well, This Isn’t Normal”.

Alicia rarely talks about her love life in public but it’s widely known that she’s today married to British-French actor Sebastian Roche.
