Chaz was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania USA, on 26 October 1977 – his zodiac sign is Scorpio, and he holds American nationality. He’s an actor and singer-songwriter, who’s appeared in close to 30 movies and TV series, while he’s perhaps still known best for his portrayal of Stevie in the action crime movie “Set It Off”. Early life and education
Chaz was raised in Philadelphia by his mother Cheryl Shepherd, who was a choreographer and dancer prior to quitting her job in Philadelphia’s public schools, to become Chaz’s manager; his parents divorced when he was four years old. He hasn’t mentioned having any siblings, so most people believe him to be an only child.
He became interested in acting while still attending a local elementary school, and Chaz appeared in various plays performed at both the school and a local theatre. He made his professional debut at the Walnut Street Theatre in the play “Fame”, and was 15 when he made his debut film appearance in the 1993 action thriller “Survive the Night”.
Upon matriculating in 1995, Chaz enrolled at Evelyn Graves Christian Academy, from which he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in 1999.

He made his debut TV series appearance with his portrayal of Young Abner in two episodes of the hit 1993 romantic biographical mini-series “Queen”.
It starred Ann-Margret and Patricia Clarkson, and follows the life of the mixed-race girl Queen, whose father was the owner of a plantation, and whose mother was a slave; the mini-series won six awards, including a Primetime Emmy, while it was nominated for 13 other awards.
In 1994 and 1995, Chaz starred in all the 19 episodes of the comedy “Me and the Boys”, and the following years saw him make a guest appearance in an episode or two of various series, such as the family comedy drama “Moesha”, the comedy “Minor Adjustments”, and the family comedy “Sister, Sister”.
Between 1996 and 2001, he played John Hamilton in the popular family comedy drama “7th Heaven”, created by Brenda Hampton, and which starred Stephen Collins, Catherine Hicks and Jessica Biel.
The series follows a minister, his wife and their seven children, and won 24 of the 82 awards for which it was nominated.
Chaz appeared in only a couple of series in the following 15 years, including the mystery crime drama “The Division”, the comedy “The Parkers” and the romantic comedy drama “The Game”.

In 1994, Chaz played Royce in the adventure comedy drama “A Pig’s Tale”, and gained recognition in 1996 with his appearance in the hit romantic science fiction comedy “The Nutty Professor”. It was directed by Tom Shadyac, starred Eddie Murphy, Jada Pinkett Smith and James Coburn, and follows obese professor Sherman Klump who becomes slim Buddy Love with the help of a potion; the movie won 11 awards, including an Oscar for Best Make-up (Rick Baker and David LeRoy Anderson), while it was nominated for 12 other awards.
A couple of Chaz’s following roles were in the 1996 action crime drama “Set It Off”, the 1998 science fiction “Twice the Fear”, and the 2004 drama “Woman Thou Art Loosed”.
It was 12 years later that he appeared in his next movie: the 2016 drama “Grandma’s House”. It was directed by Paul D.
