Who is Tim Meadows?
Timothy ‘Tim’ Meadows was born in Highland Park, Michigan USA, on 4 February 1961 – his zodiac sign is Aquarius, and he holds American nationality. He’s an actor, comedian and woodworker, who has appeared in close to 100 movies and TV series, while he’s perhaps still known best for his portrayal of Mr. Duvall in the 2004 comedy movie “Mean Girls”. It was directed by Mark Waters, starred Lindsay Lohan, Jonathan Bennett and Rachel McAdams, and follows Cady Heron who’s a member of her school’s girl group The Plastics, but has now made the mistake of falling in love with Aaron Samuels, the former boyfriend of The Plastics’ leader Regina George. There have been some rumors circulating the internet claiming that Tim has retired from acting, however, he’s still highly active in the film industry, and is to voice Filbin Nutwagon in the upcoming animated movie “Saurus City” in late-2022.

Early life and education
Tim was raised in Highland Park, the youngest of five siblings, by their father Lathon Meadows who was a janitor, and mother Mardell who was a nurse’s assistant.
He grew up being interested in journalism, mostly because his father watched news shows every day. Tim studied at Pershing High School, and was interested in various activities during his four years there, including writing for the school’s newspaper, practicing acting with its drama club, and playing basketball.
Upon matriculating in 1979, he enrolled at Wayne State University, from which he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in television and radio broadcasting in 1983. He spent the following eight years performing improv comedy at the Soup Kitchen Saloon, and was also a member of the comedy troupe The Second City, prior to launching his career on TV.
Roles in TV series
Tim became popular after he joined the cast of the musical comedy series “Saturday Night Live” in 1991. It was created by Lorne Michaels back in 1975, and is still airing to this day, numbering close to 1,000 episodes. The show stars The Saturday Night Live Band, Don Pardo and Darrell Hammond, and features celebrities in its sketches and parodies; Tim starred in it until 2000, appearing in 182 episodes.
He then played Kevin Blakeley in nine episodes of the 2000 mystery crime comedy “The Michael Richards Show”, and made a guest appearance in an episode of a couple, of hit series, such as the action crime drama “Third Watch”, the comedy drama “One on One” and the comedy “The Office”. Between 2007 and 2009, Tim portrayed Paul DuFrayne in the family comedy “The Bill Engvall Show”, created by Bill Engvall, who also starred in it, alongside Nancy Travis and Jennifer Lawrence.
The series follows the lives of the therapist Bill Pearson, his wife and their three children, and won two of the six awards for which it was nominated.
He spent the first half of the 2010s focused on making guest appearances in series such as the short comedy “UCB Comedy Originals” and the comedy “30 Rock”, and in 2014 and ‘15, Tim played Kevin 1 in the romantic comedy “Marry Me”. It was created by David Caspe, starred Casey Wilson, Ken Marino and John Gemberling, and follows Annie and Jake who have been in a relationship for six years, and have just become engaged.
Three of Tim’s most recent roles in TV series have been in three episodes of the 2021 animated comedy “Santa Inc.” (voice role), 20 episodes of the animated comedy “Bob’s Burgers” (voice role) in 2021 and 2022, but since 2013, he’s been portraying John Glascott in the popular comedy “The Goldbergs”.

Tim made his debut film appearance in the 1993 short comedy “Schiller’s Reel: While the City Sweeps”, and the same year saw him appear in the science fiction comedy “Coneheads” and the musical comedy “Wayne’s World 2”.
He became somewhat popular in 2000, when he portrayed Leon Phelps, the main character in the comedy “The Ladies Man”, directed by Reginald Hudlin, and which also starred Karyn Parsons and Billy Dee Williams. It follows a man who has been fired from his job because of inappropriate comments, and has received a letter from his true love, but doesn’t know who she is; the film was nominated for a Black Reel Award for Best Soundtrack.
In 2001, Tim played Lionel in the family fantasy drama “Three Days”, while some of his following notable performances were in the 2003 family comedy “The Even Stevens Movie”, the 2006 sports comedy “The Benchwarmers”, and the 2007 musical comedy “Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story”.
In 2010, Tim played Malcolm in the comedy “Grown Ups”, directed by Dennis Dugan, and which starred Adam Sandler, Salma Hayek and Kevin James. It follows five childhood friends who haven’t seen each other for decades, and have now reunited for their high school basketball coach’s funeral; the film won three of the seven awards for which it was nominated.
Some of Tim’s most notable performances in the 2010s were in the 2011 comedy “Jack and Jill”, the 2015 romantic comedy drama “Trainwreck” and the 2018 comedy “The Goldbergs: 1990-Something”. His most recent film role has been his portrayal of Donovan Piggot in the 2021 short drama “John Bronco Rides Again”.

Tim and his colleagues won a 2010 Streamy Award for Best Ensemble Cast in a Web Series, for their efforts in “Easy to Assemble”, and he and his other colleagues won a 2020 CinEuphoria Merit – Honorary Award, for their performance in the series “The Goldbergs”.
Tim was also nominated for a 1993 Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Writing in a Variety or Music Program, for “Saturday Night Live”.
Love life and wife
Tim prefers to keep the details of his love life to himself, but it’s still widely known that he was a married man. He exchanged vows with the non-celebrity American Michelle Taylor on 20 July 1997, in a private ceremony attended by only the closest of their friends and family members. Michelle gave birth to their first son Isaiah Crosby Meadows on 28 December 2000, and their second son Julian Meadows followed two years later – the exact date of his birth remains undisclosed.
On 8 November 2004, Michelle filed for divorce for unknown reasons, while it’s rumored that it was because of Tim’s infidelity; the divorce was finalized in 2005.
Tim hasn’t spoken of any other women whom he has perhaps been with, and as of February 2022, he’s single, was once married, and has two sons with his former wife Michelle Taylor.
Hobbies and interesting facts
When invited by the famous actor and comedian Steve Carell to appear in an episode of his comedy series “The Office”, Tim responded that he was honored by the invitation, but would have to refuse because it wasn’t paying as much as he wanted, and couldn’t allow himself to ‘sell short’. His manager was out of town, but Tim was advised by his manager’s assistant to accept the role; he went along with it, and later stated that he had a fun time shooting for that one episode.
Tim is passionate about travelling, and his acting career has made it possible for him to travel to nearly all US states, as well as to various European and a couple of Asian countries; his dream travel destination is Rome in Italy.
Tim is a huge fan of the American moviemaker and author David Mamet, and a couple of his favorite movies are “The Spanish Prisoner”, “Spartan”, and “House of Games”.
