Who Is Tori Roloff?

Fans of the Roloffs have come to know Tori well over a decade, as her appearances in “Little People, Big World” increased with time, and saw her becoming part of the family. Though her real name is Victoria Elizabeth, fans of the rest of the show have been calling her Tori since she debuted in the tenth season, when she was just an employee on the family’s farm.

According to an interview with Tori, she and Zach thought that the other was ‘cute’, but he was nervous about talking to her, so their relationship was initially distant for several months, until he finally asked out. Slowly but surely, Tori’s friendship with the Roloff twin evolved into a romantic bond in 2011, with them dating for four years before finally tying the knot in a ceremony at the family’s farm.

Since then, Tori and Zach have welcomed three children and stuck together through some of the best and not-so-good moments of their lives, including Zach’s unsuccessful journey to buy the family’s farm, moving away from their native Oregon, and several health-related issues.

Family Life

Zach and Tori’s first son, Jackson Kyle was born in May 2017, their second kid Lilah Ray in November 2019, followed by Josiah Luke, who they welcomed in April 2022.

All of Zach and Tori’s kids have been diagnosed with achondroplasia, which is the same type of dwarfism that Zach has. The parents have opened up about their children’s health from the start, with Zach affirming that having kids with the same medical condition as him would help ‘encourage’ him by recalling his own experiences growing up. On her part, Tori has affirmed that she ‘wouldn’t have it any other way’ when it comes to her children.

With that being said, the parents have made good on their promise to support their children through tough times, opening up about their struggles such as the time their son Jackson went through leg bowing-correcting surgery and had several issues recovering from it. They have also revealed that their daughter Lila suffers from strabismus, causing her eyes to squint.

Regarding the possibility of having another child, the couple told Hollywood Life that they ‘were good’ with having just three children.

Miscarriage & Health Issues

Actualy, Tori Roloff suffered a miscarriage in March 2021 shortly after finding out she had been pregnant for a third time. The news was revealed by Tori on an Instagram post, sharing that she and Zach had found out about the heartbreaking loss at week eight of her pregnancy, perhaps fortunately, also not giving them a chance to reveal to others that they were expecting.

As Tori described it, she felt ‘sad, angry, and scared at a single moment’ like never before, after finding out about the miscarriage. Nonetheless, she also affirmed that she‘d found comfort in her Christian faith to accept the situation, and was strongly supported by Zach.

Later on, Tori told US Weekly that she was ‘hopeful’ about having another child and was open about adopting one. Her wish to welcome another addition to her family soon became a reality though, as by late 2021 she was pregnant with Josiah.

However, giving birth to her third child wasn’t as easy as she expected. As Tori revealed to Hollywood Life, Josiah ‘decided to come early’, leading to some complications with her scheduled C-section appointments. The recovery was also tough to endure, yet she affirmed that ‘the birth itself was great’.

Feud With In-Laws

Just as any other reality show, “Little People, Big World” has delivered some drama to its audiences throughout the years. The show’s most talked-about drama had to do with the future of the family’s farm, for which Zach and his father Matt had a serious argument when the latter refused to sell the property to his son.

This incident happened in late 2020 and early 2021, though it also involved Zach’s brother, Jeremy, as the other twin previously also had an intention of buying the farm. Neither child was able to buy the property from their father, but the relationship between the pair was rumored to become quite distant for a while, as they didn’t attend each other’s events and stopped interacting on social media.

The fight over the farm’s ownership also involved the brother’s respective wives, as Tori reportedly didn’t congratulate her sister-in-law Audrey when the latter announced her third pregnancy in July 2021. According to The Sun, Audrey had also thrown some shade at Tori before that, hinting that their relationship had been on the rocks for some time, despite the women’s previous closeness.

In the end, Tori and Audrey eventually resumed their social media interactions, but they never confirmed or denied that something wrong had happened between them.

Exit From The Show

In February 2024, Zach and Tori announced their exit from “Little People, Big World” ahead of its 25th season; this news didn’t exactly come as a surprise for the show’s fans, as the couple had long been hinting at their intention of leaving.

It all comes back to late 2021 when Zach and Tori sold their house in Portland, Oregon to move to Washington. Zach’s unsuccessful try at buying part of his family’s farm seemed to play a role in this decision, as Tori seemingly confirmed when she wrote ‘some things just don’t go according to plan’ after being asked about whether they were still interested in the purchase.

Although Zach and Tori didn’t leave the show right away, in an Instagram story shared in December 2022, she affirmed that their time in it ‘was coming to an end’, saying that there were ‘a lot of misconceptions’ about her family which originated from the show, as people only saw their images on screen, and not their real selves.

With that being said, it’s unsurprising that not only did Zach and Tori leave “Little People, Big World”, but also that they’ve made an effort to let their fans know them better through their podcast “Raising Heights” and their YouTube channel. Nonetheless, it was nostalgic for fans of the show to see them go.
