In April 2023, Mikaela shared her traumati experience of being detained and later deported from the USA. The social media sensation had flown for 20+ hours from Perth to Los Angeles only to be detained in a room that looked like a ‘war movie room’ for almost two days before being flown back to Australia. Gun Range Controversy
Mikaela sparked a controversy when she posted her photo in a gun range to respond to a question regarding her favorite hobby in America. Many took offense to her post, which was uploaded a few days after the US experienced a horrifying event, where a gunman opened fire killing nine people at a Texas shopping Centre. One social media user wrote, ‘Best part of America is the guns? There was a mass shooting a few days ago at a shopping mall.
