Have you ever wondered how rich Romelu Lukaku is, as of early 2018? According to authoritative sources, it has been estimated that Lukaku’s net worth is as high as $20 million, an amount earned through his successful career as a soccer player, active since 2009.

Romelu Lukaku Net Worth $20 Million

Of Congolese ancestry, Romelu is the oldest child of Roger Lukaku, who played soccer for several Belgian teams and the Zaire national squad. Romelu’s younger brother is Jordan Lukaku, who is currently signed to the Italian club, Lazio.

Romelu started his youth career in Rupil Boom, for which he played from 1999 until 2003. In 2004 he became the player of Lierse, but after two years, Lierse failed to retain a spot in the Belgian Pro League, and as a result Anderlecht bought the majority of its youth players, including Romelu. He remained in Anderlecht’s youth system for three years, before signing a professional contract on the 13th May 2009, his 16th birthday. He made his professional debut just 11 days later, but wasn’t quite successful as his team failed to score and lost to Standard Liège. However, Lukaku became an integral part of Anderlecht’s starting team in the 2009-2010 season, during which he scored 15 goals and helped Anderlecht win its 30th title, and Lukaku’s first. He remained in Anderlecht until the 2011-2012 season, when he was bought by Chelsea F.C. for a fee of €12 million, but could have gone to €20 million if Romelu had met bonuses.

Unfortunately, Romelu wasn’t given much opportunity under manager Mourinho, and after two seasons he was sent on loan to West Bromwich Albion.

His performance blossomed while at the club from the West Midlands, as he scored on his debut against Liverpool, and continued to score goals in every game, finishing the season with 17. After WBA, he was then sent to Everton, and proved his class, scoring 15 goals for his new team in 31 league games. Following his success at Goodison Park he returned to Stamford Bridge, but after a couple games, he was actually sold to Everton for £28 million.

He played for Everton until the end of 2016-2017 season, scoring 53 goals for the team and winning several honors, including Everton Young Player of the Season for 2015-2016 season, Everton Player of the Season for 2016-2017, and Premier League PFA Team of the Year also for 2016-2017 season, before being sold to Manchester United and his former coach Jose Mourinho for £75 million plus £15 million in bonuses. So far, Lukaku has played in 23 league games for the Reds, and scored 11 goals.

Aside from club success, Romelu has also played for the Belgian national team, making his debut in 2010, since when he has played in 65 games scoring 31 goals. He and the rest of the team led Belgium to the FIFA World Cup quarter-finals in 2014, where they lost to Argentina to an early goal scored by Higuain.

When it comes to his personal life, Romelu has been in a relationship with Sarah Mans since 2016. Lukaku is a devoted Roman Catholic, and completed his pilgrimage to Lourdes in 2014.
