Michael T. Strahan was born on 21 November 1971 under the zodiac sign of Scorpio, in Houston, Texas USA. He was raised by his father, Gene Willie Strahan, who was a former US Army Major and professional boxer, and his mother Louise (Traylor) Strahan, who was a basketball coach; he has five elder siblings. At the age of nine, he moved with his family to Mannheim, West Germany, where he went to Mannheim American High School and there started playing football. He was later sent to live with his uncle in Houston, Texas to attend Westbury High School, and after matriculating he enrolled on a scholarship at Texas Southern University, from which he graduated in 1993.

Michael’s professional playing career began when he was selected as the 40th overall pick in the second round of the 1993 NFL Draft by the New York Giants. During his career, he was named First-team All-Pro by the Associated Press four times (1997, 1998, 2001, 2003) and was voted into Pro Bowl seven times (1997–1999, 2001–2003, 2005). In 2001, he was named the NFL Defensive Player of the Year, while he was named the NFC Defensive Player of the Year twice, in 2001 and 2003. Also in 2001, he set the NFL record for sacks in one season with 22.5, tied with T. J. Watt. His last season proved to be his best season, since he led the team to win Super Bowl XLII in 2007, when they defeated the New England Patriots. Thereafter, he retired on 9 June 2008, and six years later was inducted into the Black College Football Hall of Fame, and the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Following his retirement, Michael joined the hit sports program “Fox NFL Sunday”, in which he started appearing as a football analyst in 2008; 10 years later he was chosen to host the new “Fox NFL Thursday”.
