Who is his mother Christina?

Famous American singer-songwriter, TV personality and actress Christina Maria Aguilera was born under the zodiac sign Sagittarius on 18 December 1980, in New York City USA. She’s highly popular for her four-octave vocal range, as well as for her songs which are often about the LGBT culture, sexuality and feminism; her albums have sold nearly 100 million copies, and she’s widely regarded as a pop culture icon and one of the greatest vocalists of all-time.

Christina was raised in New York City alongside her four siblings, by their US Army sergeant father Fausto Wagner Xavier Aguilera and violinist mother Shelly Loraine (nee Fidler); Fausto was born in Ecuador and eventually emigrated to the USA, and Shelly’s of Dutch, Irish and German descent. Christina and her family often moved while she was growing up because of her father’s work, and lived in Texas, New Jersey and Japan; upon settling in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania Christina enrolled at North Allegheny Intermediate High School, however, she had to leave and be homeschooled as she was bullied. Christina’s revealed that her father was physically and mentally abusive, and that she found comfort in music; her parents divorced in 1987: her mother married American non-celebrity James Kearns, and has a son with him.

At the age of eight, Christina joined the cast of the show “The Mickey Mouse Club”, in which she honed her skills alongside several fellow future superstars, including Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears and Ryan Gosling.

It wasn’t until the second half of the ‘90s that Christina’s career was truly launched, with the release of her self-titled debut album in 1999, which showcased her powerhouse vocals, and marked her arrival as a formidable force in the music industry. Hit songs such as “Genie in a Bottle”, “What a Girl Wants” and “Come On Over Baby (All I Want Is You)” dominated the charts, and catapulted Christina to international stardom; the album’s success earned her a Grammy Award for Best New Artist.

Following the huge success of her debut album, Christina released her second and third albums “Mi Reflejo” and “My Kind of Christmas” in 2000, and then continued to push the boundaries of her artistry with her fourth album “Stripped”, which came out in 2002. She underwent a transformative evolution with the album “Stripped”, both musically and personally, shedding her shy pop girl image in favor of a more mature and provocative sound; the album’s lead single “Dirrty” featured American rapper Redman, and shocked audiences with its bold and risqué music video, while the song “Beautiful” showcased Christina’s vulnerability and emotional depth. “Stripped” received widespread critical acclaim.

In 2006, Christina returned to her roots with her fifth studio album “Back to Basics”, inspired by the classic sounds of jazz, blues and soul, and the double-disc album showcased her versatility as an artist and her ability to seamlessly blend different musical genres. It spawned several hit songs, including “Ain’t No Other Man” and “Hurt”, both of which became huge hits and are still listened to today. “Back to Basics” debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 chart and solidified Christina’s status as one of the best vocalists of her generation.

Christina continued to explore new musical territories in the years that followed; her sixth studio album “Bionic” was released in 2010, and saw her experiment with electronic and futuristic sounds, collaborating with artists such as Nicki Minaj and M.I.A. Although the album received mixed reviews, it showcased Christina’s willingness to take risks and innovate within the pop music landscape.

She released her seventh studio album “Lotus” in 2012; it featured a more mainstream pop sound compared to “Bionic” and spawned hit songs “Your Body” and “Just a Fool”, featuring Blake Shelton. The album received mixed reviews, and wasn’t nearly as popular as its predecessors.

It took Christina six years to release her following album “Liberation”; it came out on 15 June 2018 and spawned hit songs “Like I Do”, “Fall in Line” and “Accelerate”, receiving mostly positive reviews. Her most recent (ninth) studio album “Aguilera” came out on 31 May 2022, and was nominated for eight Latin Grammy awards, winning Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album.

Throughout her career, Christina’s remained a constant presence in the music industry, continuously reinventing herself and pushing artistic boundaries; her vocals and fearless attitude have earned her numerous accolades, including a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, two Latin Grammies and five Grammies.

In addition to her musical achievements, Christina’s also made a significant impact as a coach in the reality singing competition show “The Voice”.
