Kevin Darnell Hart was born on 6 July 1979, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA. He’s the son of Henry Hart and Nancy, but was raised by his single mother as his father was a cocaine addict and was in and out of jail during his childhood.
He went to George Washington High School, after which he enrolled at Community College of Philadelphia, but dropped out after a few months and moved to New York City. However, he then quickly moved to Brockton, Massachusetts, working as a shoe salesman.
At first, Kevin was booed offstage several times at the start of his stand-up career, but he never gave up, and appeared in comedy competitions throughout Massachusetts.
One of his first on-screen appearances was in the TV comedy series “Undeclared” (2001-2022), created by Judd Apatow, then in 2002, he made his film debut as Shawn in the film “Paper Soldiers”, and in the following year he was CJ in the cult film “Scary Movie 3”.
