“Dance Moms”
Brooke starred in the reality show “Dance Moms” in 2011 – it was created by Abby Lee to showcase the talents and training of dance students, and she made appearances together with her sister and mother. When the show was beginning, everyone regarded Brooke as Abby’s favorite dancer (also the oldest permanent dancer on the team) but as time passed, she started losing interest in dancing and subsequently her relationship with her trainer Abby began declining – this was sparked by her mother’s altercation with Abby in the show’s fourth season in late 2013. Hyland revealed that being cast in “Dance Moms” changed her perspective of life, and despite being strenuous, it helped her develop a great work ethic. After it ended, they (together with Paige) quit dancing but continued keeping in touch with some of its cast.

On top of being a seasoned dancer, Hyland also comes in as a pop singer, who released her first single in 2012 entitled “Summer Love Song” and later her debut self-titled album. Brooke and her sister Paige left “Dance Moms” abruptly after a heated argument between their mother Kelly and their dance teacher and founder of Abby Lee M. Dance Company turned physical. The altercation saw Kelly arrested and sued for assault, for allegedly slapping and pulling Abby’s hair. However, a Bronx Supreme Court judge dropped their case in 2015, but Kelly was ordered to go for counseling for a few days, and was also instructed to stay away from the dancing instructor for half an year. A few months later, Paige sued Abby for assault, claiming that she’d thrown a chair at her. However, the judge didn’t find sufficient evidence, and ended up dismissing the case in late 2015.
