Who is Christos Dorje Walker?

An Australian psychotherapist, Christos Dorje Walker rose to prominence after his marriage with Golshifteh Farahani, the famous Iranian actress. He was born under the zodiac sign of Sagittarius on 28 November 1970, in Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia. His ethnicity is Caucasian, and although he was born into a family that follows Christianity as a religion, he’s Buddhist.

Golshifteh was raised in Tehran alongside her brother, whose name she hasn’t revealed, and her sister Shaghayegh Farahani, who is also an actress, by their parents Fahimeh Rahim Nia and Behzad Farahani; their father is a theatre actor and director in Tehran.

Golshifteh had an interest in music and acting from an early age,, and at the age of five, enrolled at a music school in her hometown,. When she was 14, she had the lead role in the movie “The Pear Tree”, which was her acting debut, that brought her the Crystal Roc Award – Best Actress.

This action thriller drama directed by Ridley Scott, although bringing Golshifteh her first appearance in a Hollywood movie, also caused her problems, as she appeared without a hijab, which Iranian authorities interpreted as a collaboration with American propaganda, and violating Islamic law, being criticized by her homeland government, and thus moved to Paris, France.

In 2012, she posed nude for the French magazine Madame Le Figaro, and the government of Iran officially told her that she wasn’t welcome there. Golshifteh said in her interview for the Telegraph: ‘I was told by a Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guide official that Iran does not need any actors or artists. You may offer your artistic services somewhere else.’

In the following years, she acted in French movies such as “The Patience Stone “, originally entitled “Syngué sabour, Pierre de patience”, also starring Hassina Burgan and Hamid Djavadan, with her performance as The Woman bringing her Abu Dhabi Film Festival New Horizons Competition Award – Best Actress, and  Gijón International Film Festival Award – Best Actress, in 2012.

Golshifteh was seen in another movie directed by Ridley Scoot, portraying Nefertari alongside Christian Bale, Joel Edgerton and Ben Kingsley in “Exodus: Gods and Kings”, and then in 2017 she made an appearance as Shansa in “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales”, alongside Johnny Depp, Javier Bardem and Geoffrey Rush,.

She made her first appearance on television in 2021, portraying Sahar Sari in “City of Ghosts”, while before that she was heard as the voice of the character Yasamin ‘Yaz’ Madrani in the animated series “Gen: Lock” also featuring Michael B. Jordan and David Tennant.
