Roman’s wrestling career was launched when he signed a developmental contract with WWE in 2010, following in the footsteps of his legendary wrestling family, the famed Anoa’i wrestling dynasty, which includes his father Sika and his cousins Yokozuna, Rikishi, and The Usos (Jimmy and Jey Uso).

Initially, Roman was introduced to the WWE Universe as a member of The Shield, a dominant faction alongside Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose. Debuting in 2012, The Shield quickly made an impact, wreaking havoc on the WWE roster with their impressive in-ring abilities and uncompromising attitude; Roman’s role as the powerhouse of the group showcased his natural athleticism and raw power, earning him the moniker ‘The Powerhouse of The Shield’.

As part of The Shield, Roman captured the WWE Tag Team Championship and the United States Championship, solidifying his status as a rising star in the company, however, it was his transition to singles competition that would truly define his career trajectory.

Following The Shield’s dissolution in 2014, Roman embarked on a singles career that would see him ascend to the upper ranks of WWE; his signature maneuvers, including the Spear and the Superman Punch, became synonymous with his persona and left a trail of defeated opponents in their wake.

Roman’s ascent to the WWE Championship was meteoric, culminating in a victory over Triple H at WrestleMania 32 in 2016, solidifying his status as the face of WWE, and ushering in a new era of dominance. Roman’s reign as champion was marked by fierce rivalries with the likes of AJ Styles, Brock Lesnar and John Cena, cementing his reputation as a top-tier competitor.

In recent years, Roman’s undergone a remarkable transformation, shedding his previous persona as a fan favorite to embrace his role as a dominant villain. Adopting the moniker ‘The Tribal Chief’ and aligning himself with his real-life cousin Jey Uso, he’s become the undisputed leader of the WWE roster.

Under Roman’s leadership, WWE has witnessed a resurgence in storytelling and character development, with his ongoing rivalry with the likes of Edge, Daniel Bryan and Cesaro captivating audiences worldwide.

Beyond his in-ring accomplishments, Roman’s influence extends far beyond WWE; as a role model and ambassador for WWE, he’s used his platform to inspire others and give back to the community.
