Gary’s upbringing remains a mystery for the media and up until his college years, little information is available for this Wall Street manager. After finished high school, Gary attended Newhouse Communications School at Syracuse University, from which he earned a BSc in Radio, TV and Film Management in 1986, and then furthered his studies at New York University, earning an MBA in Finance.

Soon afterwards, Gary found his first job as an analyst for the J.R.O. Associates, which is a hedge fund headquartered in New York. Two years later he left the firm to become portfolio manager for the Cowen & Company in their Private Banking Department. He fairly quickly rose through the ranks in the firm, and in 1996 he became a partner at the company. Thanks to his successful management, the assets of the firm enlarged from around $200 million to an amount well over $1.3 billion from 1992 to 1999. He left the firm that year to join the Neuberger Berman LLC, and stayed in the company until 2008, just before the collapse of the Lehman Brothers, which owned the Neuberger Berman LLC.

However, Gary apparently reached the status of one of the most successful money managers of Wall Street, and after the demise of Lehman Brothers, Neuberger became a sole firm again, and Gary, as its former employee had to adhere to a two-year non-compete clause in his contract. This led to Gary’s employment as a CNBC analyst and became known to the world for his appearing in the show ““Squawk Box”. He worked for CNBC until 2013 when he joined Morgan Stanley as Senior Advisor, before joining Fox Business Network, and Fox News Channel to work as a contributor. So far, he has co-hosted “Wall Street Week” (2016-2017), with Maria Bartiromo and Louis Rukeyser, and appeared in “Outnumbered”, among other shows, which have also added to his wealth.

Regarding his personal life, Gary is married to Lorri, with whom he has three children. The Kaminsky family reside in Roslyn, New York.
