Alana McLaughlin Wiki Bio
American former US Army Special Forces member and Mixer Martial Arts (MMA) fighter Alana McLaughlin was born in Danville, Illinois USA, on 26 June 1983, making Cancer her zodiac sign. She’s probably known best for being the second transgender woman to compete in MMA, while her record’s 1-0-0 as she’s had only a single professional bout, when she defeated Celine Provost at Combate Global on 10 September 2021; she fought under the name Lady Feral, and won in the second round via rear-naked choke.
Education and early life
Alana was raised in West Columbia, South Carolina by her parents about whom not a lot is known, because Alana prefers not to speak about them; it’s known that they have conservative views, and that they sent her to conversion therapy while she was growing up, wanting her to be more masculine.
She was mostly into sports while attending a local high school, and was on her school’s cross-country team; she performed so well that Newberry College offered her a scholarship. Alana matriculated in 2001 and then enrolled at Newberry, but transferred to Winthrop University two years later; it was while attending Winthrop that Alana spoke to her mother for the last time, when she said that she’d rather have Alana die at war than become her daughter (instead of her son).
Alana quit school after this, but enrolled at the University of North Carolina Asheville in 2011, graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 2015.
Alana’s career
It was in 2003 that Alana joined the US Army Special Forces, and was in 2007 sent to Afghanistan as a medical sergeant and member of a 12-people team; she served for a total of six years, during which she was awarded eight service medals, and then didn’t re-enlist in 2009.
It remains unknown what Alana’s been doing for a living since 2009, but it’s known that she began working out and preparing for MMA in 2020, at the MMA Masters gym in Hialeah, Florida.
