Forrie J. Smith is an American actor, stuntman and producer, probably best known to the world as Lloyd Pierce in the TV series “Yellowstone” (2018-2023), in addition to several other notable appearances he’s had so far in his career.

Forrie J. Smith was born on 9 March 1959 in Helena, Montana, USA. Forrie hasn’t revealed the names of his parents, but it’s known that his father is a Canadian Cowboy Hall of Fame inductee. Unfortunately, there is no information about his mother, and whether he has siblings or not.

His educational background is also a mystery, but it is believed that he finished a local high school. He became interested in rodeo during his youth, and pursued it into a professional career.

Forrie continued to appear regularly in westerns throughout the ‘90s; in 1994 in “Gunsmoke: One Man’s Justice”, starring James Arness, Bruce Boxleitner, and Amy Stock, directed by Jerry Jameson, about a teenage boy who wants to avenge the murder of his mother, but his effort is brought to a halt by retired Marshal Dillon.

The same year, Forrie featured in the western action movie “Blind Justice”, with Armand Assante, Elisabeth Shue, and Robert Davi in the lead roles, while in 1995, he was Jesse James in one episode of the TV series “Legend”.

In 1996 he portrayed Blonde Knight in the TV mystery-western series “The Lazarus Man” and the same year, he appeared in the television movie “Ruby Jean and Joe” about an unlikely friendship between an elderly rodeo-rider and a young hitchhiker.

The 2000s

Forrie started the new millennium with the role of Deputy Landers in the western drama film “South of Heaven, West of Hell”, starring Billy Bob Thornton, Luke Askew and Dwight Yoakam.

Five years later, he appeared in the Academy Award-nominated adventure comedy-drama film “Transamerica”, with Felicity Huffman, Kevin Zegers and Fionnula Flanagan in the lead roles, about a transgender woman who learns that she has a son who is now a teenager, written and directed by Duncan Tucker.

In 2006 he appeared in the action horror-thriller film “Seven Mummies”, starring Matt Schulze, Cerina Vincent and Billy Wirth, about six convicts who escape prison, but face imminent death in the Arizona desert.
