Who is David Pollack?
David M. Pollack was born in New Brunswick, New Jersey USA, on 19 June 1982 – his zodiac sign is Gemini, and he holds American nationality. He’s a former professional American Football player, probably still known best for the two years which he spent playing for the Cincinnati Bengals of the National Football League (NFL); David then suffered an injury, which marked the end of his career.
Early life and education
David was raised in New Brunswick by his mother Kelli who worked at a kindergarten, and his father Norm who was a psychologist; not a lot else is known about David’s parents, as he respects their privacy. Because he hasn’t mentioned having any siblings, it’s widely believed that he’s an only child.
David and his family moved to Snellville, Georgia when he was 12 years old, and he enrolled at Shiloh High School two years later. David was physically highly active during his four years there, as he played both football and basketball for the school teams, while he also wrestled; he excelled in football, and was a Class 5A All-State selection during his senior year, while he was also named Defensive Lineman of the Year by the Atlanta Touchdown Club.
David matriculated in 2000, and then enrolled at the University of Georgia on a football scholarship; he was roommates with David Norman Greene, who later became a successful quarterback in the NFL. David played football for the college’s Bulldogs, coached by Mark Richt, and was for three consecutive seasons named an All-Southeastern Conference (SEC) selection, as well as to the All-American first-team. He received a couple of other honours, including being named to National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) consensus first-team, being named SEC Player of the Year in both 2002 and 2004, and winning Ted Hendricks Award, Lombardi Award and Lott Trophy in 2004.
He numbered 36 sacks during his college career, ranking #3 in NCAA history; David graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in history in 2004.
Career as a Football Player
David was picked in the first round of the 2005 NFL Draft by the Cincinnati Bengals, and was a reserve for his first five games, prior to becoming a starting linebacker. David sprained his knee during the season and had to miss two games, but this didn’t stop him from ranking second in his team with 4.5 sacks, 22 tackles and six assists.
During his second season with the Bengals, in a game against Cleveland Browns played on 17 September 2006, David broke his sixth cervical vertebrae and had to be taken off the field on a stretcher. He underwent surgery, and spent the following three months wearing a halo brace.

David revealed on 7 January 2007 in an interview with ESPN, that he would return to playing if his rehab process went well, however, the Bengals announced on 11 July 2007 that he would miss the entire season.
It was revealed on 22 April 2008 that David wasn’t satisfied with his medical condition, and would retire from football.
After football
Following his retirement, David founded his own company FanBan, which manufactures sports banners with college football logos and sports photographs; the company’s donated more than $10,000 to Young Men’s Christian Association (YMCA) since then.
On 9 September 2008, David began working for the Atlanta radio show “The Zone” as a sports talk host, and the same year saw him start working for CBS, covering college football. In 2009, David was invited to join ESPN as a college football analyst, and two years later, he began co-hosting the shows “Palmer and Pollack”, and “College GameDay”.
In July 2012, it was revealed that David would replace Craig James as a co-host of “Thursday Night Football”, working alongside Samantha Ponder, Jesse Palmer and Rece Davis.
Most recently, on 11 March 2020, David was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame.
Controversy
David attracted a lot of attention in October 2013, when he stated that because women haven’t played professional football, they shouldn’t be allowed to be on the selection committee for College Football Play-offs.
Love life and wife
David’s highly secretive when it comes to sharing the details of his love life with the public, but it’s still widely known that he’s today a married man. He exchanged vows with non-celebrity American woman Lindsey Pollack on 21 May 2005, in a large ceremony attended by many of their friends and family members; neither has spoken about the circumstances under which they met, but it’s believed that they were set up on a blind date by a mutual friend in 2003.
David and Lindsey have two children together, Nicholas and Leah Pollack, but they’re keeping them away from the media’s attention, and not even their birthdates are known.
David hasn’t mentioned any other women whom he’s perhaps been with, so as of July 2022, he’s married to Lindsey Pollack, and they have two children together.

Hobbies and interesting facts
David’s highly active on Instagram, and seems to be enjoying the attention which he’s receiving from his close to 30,000 followers; he’s uploaded over 130 pictures onto the network, most of which feature him during his everyday life.
He’s deeply religious, and goes to church with his wife at least once a week.
David’s still physically quite active, and has multiple training sessions at the gym every week, while he occasionally plays tennis and soccer with his friends.
He’s into travelling and has been to various US states and European countries, for both work and pleasure, while his dream travel destination is London, England.
David enjoys watching movies late at night, and his favorite actor and actress are Vin Diesel and Angelina Jolie, while a couple of his favorite films include the franchise “Fast and Furious”, “Mr. and Mrs Smith”, and “Wanted”.
