If you are a fan of the movie “Pitch Perfect”, you have definitely noticed the actor who portrayed Kolio in this musical romantic drama, and if you were wondering about his name, it’s David Del Rio. He was born under the zodiac sign of Libra on 29 September 1987, in Miami, Florida USA; he holds American nationality although he comes from a family of Columbian and Cuban descent, and thus his ethnicity is Latino-American.

Early life and education
David was raised in Miami, by his parents Franklin and Virginia, he hasn’t spoken about how many siblings he has, but he said that he’s a middle child. He spoke about his family saying that he grew up in ‘a really loving, tight-knit, and hilarious family’, also saying that from an early age he loved to make people laugh, doing things like banging himself into doors or improvising, thus his parents recognized his talent for acting and took him into acting classes.
David wrote his first script at the age of 14, and acted in stage performances of “The Odyssey and Joe: The Musical and Next to the Last Hamlet” and “The Elephant Man”.

David portrayed Paco in “Vanessa & Jan” before he played one of his notable roles as Felix Garcia in “The Troop”, an action adventure comedy starring Gage Golightly, John Marshall Jones, and Nicholas Purcell, which follows the story about a troop of youngsters who are protecting the world from supernatural creatures.
In 2015, David made an appearance as Ian in an episode of the TV mini-series “Resident Advisors” before he was cast to play Mateo Garcia in the 2020 series “The Baker and the Beauty”, which is a spin-off from the eponymous Israeli romantic comedy series, developed for American television by Dean Georgaris.

In 2015, David was seen as Christian Arcega in “Spare Parts” before his portrayal of Putzie in the 2016 TV movie “Grease Live!” which had 10 award nominations and won seven, including five Primetime Emmys.

In 2010, Katie Wallace bought tickets to watch one of the hottest Broadway shows “In the Heights”, and one of the show stars was David Del Rio. After the play was over, Katie approached David and asked him for a photo, and she got a hug too, so according to her, that night she fell in love with him.
Three years later, fate or may be coincidence at the birthday party of the “Spy Kids” star, Daryl Sabara, Katie and David bumped into each other. The interesting fact is that David at first wanted to introduce her to his friend, but after he started talking with her, that idea vanished from his head.
They exchanged phone numbers, and the following day David texted Katie, and they continued to communicate over texts since she moved back home to take care of her sick father, then when she returned to Los Angeles, California where they both lived t, David asked her out on a date.
On his 26th birthday, she surprised him with a photo of the two of them from 2010, and he said that it was the best birthday surprise gift, that he had no idea that they’d met before.

After the wedding Katie changed her name to Katherine Del Rio; she‘s an actress and filmmaker, born in Auerbach, Germany but raised in Los Angeles. She’s also a chef, and has worked privately for celebrities such as Jonas Brothers and Sophie Turner.
As of February 2022, the couple is still married, they don’t have children; they lived in Los Angeles, although both dreamed of living in New York City, and it seems that they fulfilled their dream, since some rumors say that they’ve bought a house in the city.
