Who is Chris Cimino?
A meteorologist and TV host, Chris Cimino, who currently serves on WPIX early morning show (from 4-6 AM), made his debut as the co-host of the lifestyle show “New York Living“ on 17 January 2022.
Prior to his work for WPIX, Chris was the meteorologist for “Today in New York“, a morning show on the television station in New York City, WNBC, that serves as the flagship of the National Broadcasting Company (NBC) network.
Early life and education
Chris Cimino was born under the zodiac sign of Taurus on 27 April 1961, in Queens, New York City USA, where he spent most of his childhood. He holds American nationality, and his ethnicity is Caucasian.
Chris was the only child of his parents, about whom little is known, except that they were a working-class family, and they lived in East Brunswick, New Jersey before they moved to Queens.
Speaking of Chris’ educational background, he attended a local high school, and upon matriculating in 1979, enrolled at The City College of New York, from which he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Meteorology in 1983.
In following years, he received the Findley Award and Townsend Harris Medals from the college.
Career
Before he joined WNBC, Chris served as a broadcast meteorologist for private weather services, including Compu-Weather and Metro Weather. Subsequently, he worked on the radio for WTXF in Philadelphia, WLWT in Cincinnati, Ohio, and at WROC-Rochester, New York State.
Chris began serving as a meteorologist for WNBC in 1995, and has covered many significant weather events in his over 25-year-long broadcasting career for this network, including crippling blizzards, severe tropical storms, especially Superstorm Sandy.
Working for the morning show “Today in New York“, Chris had the opportunity to interview many celebrities – his favorite was the interview with Elton John.

While at WNBC, Chris has been honored by various organizations for his work done to help the community, including The United Cerebral Palsy of Long Island, among many others.
He’s also received four local Emmy Awards for his work. Chris is a member of the American Meteorological Society, and holds the Television Seal of Approval from the organization.
Chris also served as the fill-in weather anchor for Al Roker on NBC’s “Today Show“, and was known for his quote to go to the local weather update: ‘That was the look of the National Weather, now here is your local forecast.’ He concurrently served as their regular weekend weather anchor for two years.
His final day at WNBC was on 2 July 2019, replaced by Maria LaRosa.
Chris joined WPIX in December 2021, where as mentioned he currently serves as a meteorologist and a co-host.
Love life and marriage
Chris hasn’t been the subject of any rumors or controversies concerning both his love life and his sexual orientation, and it is widely known that he was in a marriage with Nancy, from 1985 until 2016, when she died.
Chris and his late wife had two children: a son named Jeremy and a daughter Carly. Nancy was an accountant, and lived a peaceful life away from the media’s attention. She was aged 54 when she died,at New York-Presbyterian Well Cornell Medical Center, after a long battle with cancer.
New wife
In April 2019, Daily Entertainment News announced that Chris is in a relationship with Edmi De Jesus Soler, a make-up artist, and actress, from Santurce, Puerto Rico. She is perhaps known best for her roles in movies such as “Special Needs”, “Victoria”, and “La Mala”.
Born Edna Milagros De Jesus Soler under the zodiac sign of Scorpio on 21 November 1975, from an early age she had an interest in foreign languages, and dreamed of traveling around the world. Upon matriculating in 1993, she enrolled at the University of Puerto Rico, from which she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Modern Languages in 1997.
Meanwhile, she decided to take acting classes, and there she met her future husband, Giovanni Rodriguez, an art director. The two married on 3 August 1997, but divorced on 14 February 2005. Edmi then moved to New York City to study at the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute.
Although neither Edmi nor Chris spoke about how and when they met, they don’t hide their relationship. The two often share their joint photos on their Instagram accounts, and most of them are with captions full of love and support.

Judging by their posts, the couple enjoys traveling and spending time together.
The two are co-hosting their cooking show, called “Chris & Edmi’s Kitchen“, and videos can be found on Chris’ self-titled YouTube channel.
As of August 2022, Chris and Edmi are still dating, they aren’t married. and they don’t have children, although they live together in Chris’ home in East Brunswick, with their dog Tula.
Other interests
Besides his work on television, Chris is a blogger, and he also co-hosts the podcast on the Bleav Podcast Network, entitled “The Middle Age Warriors”.
He began writing his blog “What’s Next Chris” at the time when he left WNBC, and was unemployed, as he wrote, for the first time in his life since he was 19. Chris wrote about various topics, but also about his life and the struggles he had.

Chris’ age is 61, he has brown hair and hazel eyes; he weighs around 155lbs (70kgs) and is 5ft 7ins (1.7m) tall.
According to sources, Chris’ salary at WPIX is approximately $120,000 per year; while he was working for WNBC, he had an annual salary between $25,000-30,000. As of August 2022, his net worth has been estimated at over $1 million, most of the income he’s earned serving as a meteorologist, but he also works as a successful real estate agent for The Hardesty Team, in Dobbs Ferry, New York.
