At the age of 12, Cassandra enrolled at the National Institute of Dramatic Art under the name Sandra Gleeson, and performed in the stage production “Boeing Boeing”, which ran for a total of seven years and is listed as the most performed French play throughout the world in the Guinness Book of Records. Its run in Sydney proved successful and opened the doors for more opportunities for Cassandra to increase her net worth.

In 1978, Harris appeared in the film “The Greek Tycoon” which is based on the story created by Nico Mastorakis, based on the relationship between Aristotle Onassis and Jacqueline Kennedy, and is said to personify Greek Tycoons. However, the film received negative reviews in a market that was saturated with films about the rich. Two years later, Harris then appeared in the film “Rough Cut” which is a heist film starring Burt Reynolds and Lesley-Anne Down, and is based on the novel entitled “Touch the Lion’s Paw” written by Derek Lambert. Harris’ next project would be the James Bond film entitled “For Your Eyes Only”, the 12th film in the “James Bond” series, and starred Roger Moore in his fifth appearance as James Bond, and in which she played the Countess Lisl von Schlaf. The film was a financial success but had mixed reception from critics. Her contributions to the film would apparently lead her husband Pierce Brosnan to be eventually cast as the next James Bond. Harris and Brosnan also made appearances in episodes of the series “Remington Steele”, which went on to run for five seasons and ended in 1987.

For her personal life, it is known that Cassandra married William Firth in 1964 but their marriage ended in divorce in 1970. She was then married to Dermot Harris for eight years from 1970, which also ended in divorce. In 1980, she married actor Pierce Brosnan and the marriage lasted until her death in 1991. She has two children from Dermot Harris and one son from Pierce Brosnan.

Brosnan adopted Cassandra’s two other children after their father passed away. In 1987 she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer, the same disease which claimed her mother’s life. She battled the disease for four years and eventually passed away in 1991. Her daughter would also pass away from the same disease in 2013.
