Buzz is the son of Eleanor (nee Lebenthal), a family that owns and runs the Lebenthal Fund at Wall Street, and Harry Gerald Bissinger II, who served as president of Lebenthal & Company. Buzz went to Phillips Academy from which he matriculated in 1972, after which he enrolled at the University of Pennsylvania. He graduated four years later and during his stint at University, Buzz contributed to the school’s newspaper, The Daily Pennsylvanian, as a sports and opinion editor.
