Who is Shawn Roberts?
Shawn Roberts was born in Stratford, Ontario, Canada, on 2 April 1984 – his zodiac sign is Aries, and he holds Canadian nationality. He’s an actor and a film producer, with close to 90 acting credits to his name, while he’s perhaps still known best for his portrayal of Rogue’s Boyfriend, in the 2000 action science fiction adventure movie “X-Men”. Written and directed by Bryan Singer, it starred Patrick Stewart, Hugh Jackman and Ian McKellen, and follows two groups of humans with superpowers: the pacifist X-Men, and the supremacist Brotherhood. The movie won 13 of the 39 awards for which it was nominated.

Early life and education
Shawn was raised in Stratford by his parents, about whom nothing’s known, as he respects their privacy, but it’s believed by many that his father’s also involved in the film industry. Because Shawn hasn’t mentioned having any siblings, he’s believed to be an only child.
He became interested in acting at a very early age, and was seven years old when he began appearing in school plays. At the age of nine, Shawn appeared in his school’s production of “Little Red Riding Hood”, and was noticed by his father’s friend Robert Forsythe, who’s a famous screenwriter. Robert then helped Shawn launch his acting career in 1994, when cast to play Michael Bumpler, in the episode “The Needle and the Damage Done” of the crime drama “Sirens”.
He remained focused on his education for the following three years, then in 1997 played Brian O’Connor in two episodes of the family fantasy horror series “Goosebumps”.
Shawn then continued acting throughout the rest of his school years, while attending a local high school in Toronto, Ontario, and upon matriculating in 2002, he didn’t enroll at college, but focused on his acting career.
Roles in TV series
By the end of the ‘90s, Shawn had made a guest appearance in an episode or two of several series, such as the romantic action drama “La Femme Nikita”, the family drama “Real Kids, Real Adventures”, and the action adventure comedy “The Famous Jett Jackson”. From 1998 through 2000, he starred as Teddy Kent in the drama “Emily of New Moon”, created by Marlene Matthews, and which also starred Martha MacIsaak and Sheila McCarthy.
It follows an orphan who has been sent to live with her relatives on Prince Edward Island; the series won four of the 21 awards for which it was nominated.
Between 2002 and 2004, Shawn played Dean in the popular romantic drama “Degrassi: The Next Generation”, which won 43 of the 146 awards for which it was nominated, including four Primetime Emmy nominations. He appeared in several other critically acclaimed series in the 2000s, including the romantic comedy drama “Falcon Beach”, the action adventure drama “Flash Gordon: A Modern Space Opera”, and the fantasy horror drama “Supernatural”.

Shawn made his debut film appearance with his portrayal of Daniel in the 1999 family fantasy “Jacob Two Two Meets the Hooded Fang”; a couple of his following roles were in the 1999 family fantasy drama “Sea People”, the 2001 romantic comedy “Get Over It”, and the 2002 drama “We Were the Mulvaneys”.
He gained recognition in 2004, when cast to play Desk Clerk, in the popular mystery crime thriller “Taking Lives”, directed by D. J. Caruso, and which starred Angelina Jolie, Ethan Hawke and Kiefer Sutherland. It follows an FBI profiler who’s helping the Canadian police catch a man who has gone on a killing spree; the movie was nominated for four awards.
Some of Shawn’s other notable performances in movies by the end of the 2000s, were in the 2005 science fiction horror thriller “Land of the Dead”, the 2006 mystery crime drama “Shock to the System”, and the 2007 science fiction fantasy horror “Diary of the Dead”.
In 2010, we saw him portray Camp Demigod in the popular family fantasy adventure “Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief”, directed by Chris Columbus, and which starred Kevin McKidd, Logan Lerman and Steve Coogan. It follows a teenager who has just discovered that he’s half-god, and the film was nominated for 11 awards. In the same year, Shawn appeared in the critically acclaimed action adventure horror “Resident Evil: Afterlife”, as well as in its 2012 sequel “Resident Evil: Retribution”. Some of his other memorable roles in the 2010s were in the 2015 romantic fantasy comedy “I Do, I Do, I Do”, the 2017 action adventure thriller “xXx: Return of Xander Cage”, and the 2017 family drama “Undercover Angel”.
Shawn’s most recent film role has been his portrayal of Jack in the 2021 comedy “Defining Moments”; he’s currently shooting for five upcoming films, including the mystery horror thriller “Campton Manor”, the adventure drama “Afterwards”, and the thriller “Two Minutes to Midnight”.

Love life and wife
Shawn’s highly secretive when it comes to his love life, and hasn’t spoken of any women or men whom he has perhaps been with. Inevitably that means various rumors circulating the internet, concerning his supposed past and present relationships, as well as his sexual orientation.
It’s been reported that the actor was in a relationship with the Canadian actress Marie Avgeropoulos in 2009; the two met on the set of the movie “I Love You, Beth Cooper”, and then apparently began dating. According to rumors, they were together for around a year before splitting for unknown reasons.
There are also many of Shawn’s fans who believe him to be gay, mostly because he hasn’t been seen spending time with any woman who could perhaps be his girlfriend, however, no evidence has been provided to support these claims, nor has Shawn commented on this.
As of September 2021, he seems to be single, hasn’t married, and doesn’t have children.
Hobbies and other interests
Shawn’s physically highly active, and his Instagram account is filled with pictures which feature him working out at the gym; he has five to six training sessions every week, and is also following a special diet, thus his muscular body.
Shawn’s an animal-lover, with his favorites being horses.

He’s an avid horseback rider, and was 14 years old when he learned to ride. Shawn also has a pet dog, which can be seen featured in many of his Instagram pictures.
He’s into travelling, and his acting career has taken him all around Canada, as well as to various US states and European countries; Shawn’s dream travel destination is Miami in Florida.
He has his own favorite actors, some of whom are Sylvester Stallone, Bruce Willis and Arnold Schwarzenegger, and a couple of his favorite movies are “The Terminator”, “Fight Club” and “Rocky”.
