Who is Boyd Holbrook?

Robert Boyd Holbrook was born in Prestonsburg, Kentucky USA, on 1 September 1981 – his zodiac sign is Virgo, and he holds American nationality. He’s an actor, film writer, producer and model, with close to 50 acting credits to his name, perhaps known best for his portrayal of Pierce in the critically acclaimed 2017 action science fiction movie “Logan”, written and directed by James Mangold, and which starred Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewart and Dafne Keen. It follows the mutant Logan who’s leading a quiet life, while he’s now decided to help a mutant child who’s pursued by scientists; the movie won 28 of the 109 awards for which it was nominated, including an Oscar nomination for Best Adapted Screenplay.

Boyd was raised in Prestonsburg by his parents Don and Ellen, about whom not a lot is known as he respects their privacy; it’s said that his father was a factory worker, and his mother a nurse. Boyd hasn’t mentioned having any siblings, so most of his fans believe him to be an only child.

The year 2012 saw Boyd play Luke Ford in the comedy drama “The Magic of Belle Isle”, written and directed by Rob Reiner, and which starred Morgan Freeman, Virginia Madsen and Madeline Carroll. It follows an alcoholic novelist who’s lost his motivation, then  finds it in a single mother and her three daughters whom he’s met on Belle Isle; the movie was nominated for an Image Award for Outstanding Actor in a Motion Picture (Morgan Freeman).

Boyd portrayed Kyle in the 2013 action adventure drama “The Host”, and portrayed Cary James in the 2013 biographical musical drama “Behind the Candelabra”, which won 57 awards, including 11 Primetime Emmys, while it was nominated for 54 other awards.

The year 2018 saw him star as Quinn McKenna in the action science fiction adventure “The Predator”, written and directed by Shane Black, and which also starred Trevante Rhodes and Jacob Tremblay. It follows a group of former soldiers and a scientist who are protecting Earth from most lethal hunters in the universe; the movie won one of the nine awards for which it was nominated.

Roles in TV series

Boyd made his debut TV series appearance in the 2009 episode “42” of the crime comedy drama “The Unusuals”, and the following years saw him appear in an episode or two of various series, such as the drama “The Beautiful Life: TBL”, the comedy drama “The Big C” and the historical romantic mini-series “Hatfields & McCoys”.

In 2015 and 2016, he portrayed one of the lead characters Steve Murphy in 20 episodes of the critically acclaimed biographical crime drama “Narcos”, created by Carlo Bernard and Chris Brancato, and which also starred Pedro Pascal and Wagner Moura. It follows the lives of Colombian drug lord Pablo Escobar and several other drug kingpins, the series aired from 2015 to 2017 and won eight of the 31 award for which it was nominated; it ranks amongst the best 100 TV series of all time.

Boyd sang the songs “Sea of Nevermore” and “Hair On My Chest” in the 2011 drama movie “Higher Ground”.

Boyd prefers to keep the details of his love life away from the media’s attention, but there are still two women whom he’s dated, that the public knows about. He began dating American actress Elizabeth Olsen in 2011, after having been introduced to her by a mutual friend at a party; Elizabeth’s appeared in close to 30 movies and TV series, and is perhaps still known best for her portrayal of the main character Martha in the 2011 mystery thriller movie “Martha Marcy May Marlene”. The two became engaged in March 2014, but split in January 2015.

Boyd’s today married to non-celebrity Danish woman Tatiana Pajkovic; neither has shared details of how and when they met, and they have a son Leon Day Holbrook together.

Boyd hasn’t mentioned any other women whom he’s perhaps been with, and as of August 2022, he’s married to Tatiana Pajkovic, and has a son with her.

Boyd’s passionate about photography, and has done some work for American professional photographer David Bradley Armstrong; one would expect Boyd to upload his pictures onto his Instagram account, however, even though he’s followed by close to 200,000 people on the network, he hasn’t uploaded a single picture or video.

He’s also into sculpting, and exhibited his work for the first time in his art show Iscariot, at the gallery Rare in Chelsea, New York State.

Travelling’s one of his favorite hobbies, and he’s been to many US states and European countries, both for work and pleasure – his dream travel destination’s Paris, France.
