With his popularity also came criticisms, especially for PBS which was broadcasting his speeches and events. A lot of viewers believed that PBS was aligning their beliefs to Dyer’s instead of their usual programming. For his personal life, Dyer was married three times firstly to Judy and they had a daughter. He then married Susan Casselman and after that married Marcelene. He and Marcelene had five children, and two stepchildren from her previous marriage. Their marriage lasted 20 years until their separation in 2001. In 2015, at the age of 75, Wayne passed away after a heart attack. He had already been suffering from leukemia which was diagnosed in 2009.
