By the end of the ‘80s, Leonard had played in “Bluffing It” (1987), starred in “My Best Friend Is a Vampire” (1987), and in Peter Weir’s Oscar-winning “Dead Poets Society” (1989) with Robin Williams and Ethan Hawke – the latter movie grossed over $235 million at the box office worldwide, and certainly helped Leonard to increase his net worth.

In the early ‘90s Leonard had parts in James Ivory’s Oscar-nominated drama called “Mr. & Mrs. Bridge” (1990) starring Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward, and continued with “Swing Kids” (1993) with Christian Bale and Frank Whaley, and Kenneth Branagh’s “Much Ado About Nothing” (1993) starring Branagh, Keanu Reeves, and Emma Thompson. He ended the decade with appearances in Christopher Reeve’s “In the Gloaming” (1997) with Glenn Close, Bridget Fonda, and Whoopi Goldberg, “The Last Days of Disco” (1998), and “Ground Control” (1998) starring Kiefer Sutherland.
