Nicholas Turturro was the youngest son of a jazz musician, Katherine, and a construction worker and carpenter, Nicholas Turturro Sr. He has two older brothers, John Turturro who is also a famous actor, and Ralph Turturro who is a musician. The family has Italian-American ancestry, as his father was an Italian immigrant, and his mother descended from Sicilians.
