Jared Scot Allen was born on 3rd April 1982, in Dallas, Texas USA, and is a former defensive end who played for such NFL teams as the Kansas City Chiefs, Minnesota Vikings, Chicago Bears and Carolina Panthers. Although he did not win a championship ring, Jared had a successful career, in which among other achievements, he played in five pro-bowl games, and was NFL Defensive player of the Year for 2011. His career was active from 2004 until 2015.

Jared actually grew up in Morgan Hill, California on a horse ranch; he first went to Live Oak High School, but had to transfer to another school, due to an accusation that he was stealing yearbooks. Jared then went to Los Gatos High School, where he first started playing. He amassed several notable results which earned him First-Team All-League and Defensive Player of the Year. He finished his high school career with 12 sacks, 96 tackles and five forced fumbles.

After the incident with yearbooks, Jared lost athletic scholarships offered by several prestigious universities, and eventually enrolled at Idaho State University, continuing on with his good performances, and earning several awards, such that his college team jersey number was subsequently retired. During his four year career, he played in 41 games, starting 33 of them, amassing 250 tackles, 38.5 tackles and 13 forced fumbles. He won the Buck Buchanan Award in is senior year.

Jared`s professional career began with the 2004 NFL Draft, in which he was selected in the fourth round by the Kansas City Chiefs. He stayed in Kansas for the next four seasons, building a name for himself, and increasing his net worth. In his rookie season, he played in 15 games being a starter in 10 of them, and recorded 31 tackles with nine sacks in the process. The following season, he became starting defensive end, which meant an increase in his playing time, and with that, higher numbers, thanks to his skills and understanding of the game. He had 55 tackles and 11 sacks, but still stayed on the league`s minimum wage. Nevertheless, after his third season and posting career high numbers with 77 tackles and 7.5 sacks, Jared received a new contract, worth $2.35 million over one year. He continued successfully in the next season, contributing to his team defense with 64 tackles and to that date a career high 15.5 sacks. In 2008 he signed a new contract worth $8.8 million, also for one year, but was eventually traded to the Minnesota Vikings, for which he played in the next six seasons, increasing further his net worth.

While in Minnesota, Jared played his best football, and had a season with most sacks in his career, totaling 22 at the end of the season; this was also a Vikings franchise record, and he posted the record for most consecutive games with a sack with 11, and most safeties in a season, 2.

After Minnesota, in 2014 Jared joined the Chicago Bears on a contract worth $32 million over four years, however, due to a change in defensive strategy, Jared played in the outside linebacker position. However, he was unable to adapt to the new position, and was traded to the Carolina Panthers, but after the 2015 season ended, he announced his retirement.

Jared finished his career with 643 tackles and 136 sacks; he was a two times NFL sacks leader, in 2007 and 2011, and was selected for the First Team All-Pro four times, from 2007 to 2009 and again in 2011.

In regards to his personal life, Jared has been married to Amy Johnson since 2010, and they have a daughter. He is a devout Christian, although he had problems with alcohol, which resulted in jail time after he was caught driving under the influence.

Nevertheless, he repaid his debt to the community and now is a well-respected humanitarian, supporting several charity organizations, including Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, and has started his own Sack Diabetes foundation, among many other humanitarian activities.
