Francis Thomas Avallone – better known as Frankie Avalon – is a singer and former teen idol, and actor born on 18th September 1940 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania USA. He is best known as the first ‘manufactured’ teen idol, and for appearing in popular beach party comedy films during the 1960s as a popular musician and singer.

Frankie’s first single, “Cupid”, came out eight months later in 1957, and his third release “Dede Dinah” reached the Top 10.
