Charles Tillman was born in Chicago but spent his childhood in various places across the world because of the nature of his father’s job; Donald Tillman Jr., was a sergeant in the US Army, and frequently moved between the US and Germany. Charles even went to 11 schools before finally gmatriculating from the Copperas Cove High School in Texas; he then went to the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.
From 1999 to 2002, Tillman represented the Louisiana–Lafayette Ragin’ Cajuns football team as a left cornerback, even though he played a wide receiver in high school.
